We definitely want to add these as first-class Operations in our Windows extensions, but in the mean time the best route is to use the PSDsc Operation to invoke the Windows Feature DSC Resource PSDSC WindowsFeature ( Name: Web-Server, Ensure: present ); Hope that helps!

We recently moved our documentation; do you know where you found those 404s? We're also monitoring via Analytics Tools as well, but finding sooner is better :) Anyways PSCall is good in Orchestration Plans (can be done in a Configuration Plan, under some conditions), and PSEnsure is best for Configuration Plans. Explaining Ensure vs Execute can be tricky, but I'd recommend checking out our ebook, called Windows-first Guide to Infrastructure as Code and Continuous Configuration Automation :)

That's actually pretty awesome. that's exactly what I was sort of thinking of doing.

That was the first thing I tried to get, though the server sort of hung at the last step, and I couldn't see it right from the installer page. Is there a folder where the logs would have been saved perhaps? They're probably still there if so. I'll be honest. Wasn't so much the server itself hanging as it was a screen reading software I was using to access it.

Thank you for reporting that, we had scheduled to do a maintenance release v1.7.3 today and were able to get a fix in for it - should be available before the end of the day.

There is a Machine Key (which is a hash of your network card and CPUID) and your License Key. Those are sent to Inedo.com (either from the software, or manually at myinedo.com), which then returns an activation code. You can change your license key on Admin > License Key.

That was weird. I ended up figuring it out; I had to reinstall the application under the builtin web server and then move it ... Not sure why.

I heard from another user who was experiencing exactly the same issue. The solution they found was to switch otter’s IIS Application Pool to Classic Pipeline (instead of Integrated). Of course it should work in both, but for whatever reason, it didn't here. So maybe it will help you as well!
