Otter Agenless Configuration (PowerShell)
-
Is there any examples of how to configure Agentless servers in Otter? I'm not able to get servers to report statuses when configured as PowerShell (agentless). We have no custom WinRM settings and ensured the machine has the HTTP listener. I've tried Integrated Security with the Otter service running as an admin on the remote machine. Additionally configured a username/password credential for the same account. Nothing seem to be working.

Otter's Agentless servers utilize PowerShell remoting channel (which is effectively WinRM); so you can use this article -- https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh849694.aspx -- to help set that up.
It's possible it's blocked by firewall, policy, etc.

its pretty risible the troubleshooting for winrm on Otter - i cannot find a shred of detail on what to do troubleshoot
more needs to be done for me to consider this as a viable config managment offering

There was a regression for the PowerShell agents that caused this to behave like this in some cases, but it was fixed in Otter 2.2.5 (released today). I should be fixed
