SQL Database supported by Build Master

Hi,

I am using Build Master Version 4.0.9 currently which is using SQL Express Server 2005 by default and is supporting 4096 MB size per database.

I am getting the below error:

Create disk space by deleting unneeded files, dropping objects in the filegroup, adding additional files to the filegroup, or setting autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup.

Alert while altering the size:
Msg 1827, Level 16, State 2, Line 1
CREATE DATABASE or ALTER DATABASE failed because the resulting cumulative database size would exceed your licensed limit of 4096 MB per database.

For this reason what can be done since my BM has stopped working. Shall I upgrade the BM version and the SQL Version parallely or only the. Will this resolve this database issue.

Also I wanted to know that which SQL version the BM v 4.8.1 will install by default??

This will be the simplest resolution.

First, upgrade the database instance to SQL Express 2008 or 2014; this will increase your limit to 10GB. Just download and run the installer from Microsoft, and instruct it to upgrade the instance.

Then, upgrade to BuildMaster 4.8, which will have retention policies that allow you to delete/purge execution logs (which are taking a lot of space).
