I open http://localhost:81/administration/security/enable-ldap and see the error:

There are currently no privileges granted to any LDAP users or groups. You must grant privileges before switching to LDAP authentication.

If I click Assign Privileges and add some user from my domain then I get the follow error:

System.Web.HttpUnhandledException (0x80004005): Exception of type 'System.Web.HttpUnhandledException' was thrown. ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x8007054B): The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted.

How and where LDAP connectivity can be set up?

      Product: ProGet
      Version: 3.5.5

Is the server that hosts BuildMaster joined to the domain?

Did you mean "hosts ProGet"? No. The machine where ProGet is installed is not in any domain.
But LDAP (not Kerberous) authentication should work without that.

Sorry yes, I meant ProGet (though the implementations are actually the same :))

Anyway, the way that it's currently implemented does require the machine to be a part of the domain. We are aware that this is not ideal and will likely change the way LDAP is queried to make more settings configurable in a future version.
