How to enable LDAP auth?
-
I open http://localhost:81/administration/security/enable-ldap and see the error:
There are currently no privileges granted to any LDAP users or groups. You must grant privileges before switching to LDAP authentication.
If I click Assign Privileges and add some user from my domain then I get the follow error:
System.Web.HttpUnhandledException (0x80004005): Exception of type 'System.Web.HttpUnhandledException' was thrown. ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x8007054B): The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted. How and where LDAP connectivity can be set up?
Product: ProGet
Version: 3.5.5 -
Is the server that hosts BuildMaster joined to the domain?
-
Did you mean "hosts ProGet"? No. The machine where ProGet is installed is not in any domain.
But LDAP (not Kerberous) authentication should work without that. -
Sorry yes, I meant ProGet (though the implementations are actually the same :))
Anyway, the way that it's currently implemented does require the machine to be a part of the domain. We are aware that this is not ideal and will likely change the way LDAP is queried to make more settings configurable in a future version.
