Error Upgrading ProGet Version 3.8.6 To 5

  • I'm attempting to upgrade ProGet v3.8.6 to the latest ProGet v5.
I tried using both InedoHub and legacy installer but both did not succeed.
The InedoHub fails with the below error.

When using the legacy installer, I first installed version 5.2.32 which succeeds successfully. But the service won't start. Event viewer shows an error with the application. I then tried to install version 5.3.34 and it fails. I followed your upgrade guidance. See below.

The purpose of this upgrade is because the jquery version in ProGet v3.8.6 failed our security scan.

How do I upgrade to latest ProGet v5?
Does ProGet v5 have a newer version of jquery? If so, what is the version?

    Hi @rbenfield_1885,

Are you able to share the error you are seeing in the event viewer after upgrading to 5.2.32? Is that InedoHub error when you upgraded to 5.2.32 or when you tried to upgrade to 5.3.34?

    Thanks,
    Rich

    Hi @rbenfield_1885,

It looks like you are using the integrated webserver. It looks like this error is happening when it is attempting to register the port on Windows. Please make sure that the user is an administrative user and that the port that you are using for ProGet is not already in use.

Can you share the error that you are getting when you are trying to upgrade to ProGet 5.3?

    Thanks,
    Rich
