BuildMaster 3.6.5 --> 4.0.2 Migration

Hi

I have a deployment config setup on version 3.6.5 and would like to migrate that setup to 4.0.2. How can I go about doing that?

Please refer to the 4.0 upgrade notes.

Basically, the installer will take care of most of the upgrade, but you'll have to manually upgrade the agents.

I meant i have 3.6.5 running on one server and 4.0.2 running on another server.

3.6.5: Has all the deployment configs and
4.0.2: Has nothing (I want to move all the settings on 3.6.5 to 4.0.2)

This is not an upgrade on the 3.6.5 server.

I see; in this case, you would need to take a back-up of the 3.6 database, and restore it to the 4.0 instance.

Then run the database update tool (bmupdate.exe, in the manual install package) against the database. This will restore everything except the build artifacts (which are juts files on disk that you can move as well).

Just a general note about upgrade (since I didn't find a good place to submit feedback): If using IIS, you will manually need to change the application pool (BuildMasterAppPool) to use .NET 4.0. At least 4.0.3's upgrade didn't update it automatically (Windows Server 2012).
