RE: Rust - invalid gzip header
@rhessinger Are you kidding? You responded extremely fast! I wasn't being sarcastic, I truly appreciate the rapid support from the ProGet team, it's admirable.
I went ahead and ran the index job and deleted the package and republished it to no avail. I also went ahead and retried the reproduction case above, and it worked fine (I was able to publish & pull).

I'm not sure what would be causing my original package to not even be able to be pulled, I suspect it might be cached improperly. I'll continue to investigate to ensure that it's my side only.
Thank you again, I truly appreciate all of the support.

RE: Rust - invalid gzip header
@rhessinger Thank you for the quick response! I am still experiencing this issue on the latest release of ProGet, are you able to verify that it is fixed on your end? Thank you again.

ProGet Docker Compose Upgrade Issues
Hello,
I'm attempting to upgrade to the latest release of ProGet (2025) and I'm suffering some issues. A couple of days ago, before it was pushed to the
proget
tag, I tried to pull the image but was meant with a 502 error and so I just reverted back to the 2024 version I was on (at that time, the latestproget
version).I recently pulled the latest version and 2025 was released and was met with the same issue. I'm working with a staging enviroment so I simply destroyed the ProGet & SQL Server stack and recreated it to no avail. The only logs that are being output is this: https://pastebin.com/413pr2hg
I saw that ProGet was upgrading to PostgreSQL but didn't find any information about installing ProGet with postgres, only how to migrate. I haven't had too much time to dive into this but every surface level idea that I (and ChatGPT) have had haven't been successful. Is there anything that I could be doing wrong? I'm using the default docker compose file provided by the documentation.
Attempting to access ProGet locally (via curl) results in the connection being reset by peer.
Thank you in advance.

RE: Rust - invalid gzip header
I reproduced it in the following:
cargo new reproduction --lib cd reproduction cargo publish --index sparse+<proget url> --token <token> --allow-dirty cd .. cargo new pull cd pull nano Config.toml
My Config.toml:
[package] name = "pull" version = "0.1.0" edition = "2024" publish = ["crates-io"] [dependencies] reproduction = {version = "0.1.0", registry = "crate"}
cargo build
Result:
cargo build Updating `crate` index Locking 1 package to latest Rust 1.87.0 compatible version Downloaded reproduction v0.1.0 (registry `crate`) error: failed to unpack package `reproduction v0.1.0 (registry `crate`)` Caused by: failed to iterate over archive Caused by: invalid gzip header

Rust - invalid gzip header
Previously, I reported a bug where publishing Rust packages wouldn't compress properly and thus wouldn't be able to be viewed online or pulled. Re: Rust Crates are uploaded with an incorrect compression method
I am experiencing a new error when attempting to pull a Rust package from ProGet.
Error:
Caused by: failed to iterate over archive Caused by: invalid gzip header
I am able to view the package fine on the web interface, which is unique to the previous error.

RE: Rust Crates are uploaded with an incorrect compression method
Awesome, thank you so much!

RE: Rust Crates are uploaded with an incorrect compression method
@rhessinger Sure. I created a basic Rust library using
cargo new test --lib
and didn't edit any of the code. I then immediately published usingcargo publish --index sparse+https://stage.pub.rip/cargo/rs/ --token <token> --allow-dirty
, where stage.pub.rip is my ProGet instance. The output of cargo publish:Updating `sparse+https://stage.pub.rip/cargo/rs/` index warning: manifest has no description, license, license-file, documentation, homepage or repository. See https://doc.rust-lang.org/cargo/reference/manifest.html#package-metadata for more info. You may press ctrl-c to skip waiting; the crate should be available shortly. Published inedo_test v0.1.0 at registry `sparse+https://stage.pub.rip/cargo/rs/`
I then went to my ProGet instance and attempted to view the files and got the same 500 error about the compression method.

I also packaged it using
cargo package --allow-dirty
and uploaded it, and I am able to view & fetch it with cargo fine. -
RE: Rust Crates are uploaded with an incorrect compression method
@atripp Yes, the file uploads fine, but the contents are corrupted / unabled to be downloaded and viewed. The error is when you go to the "Files" tab under any version. All crates from a connector / manually uploaded are fine, which made me think it was an issue with cargo upload, but I am able to upload fine to alternative crate hosters. I am able to pull & download the same crate uploaded to shipyard.rs fine.

Rust Crates are uploaded with an incorrect compression method
Apologies if this is in a correct format/too much information, but the forums guide just led to the Inedo website.
When uploading via cargo publish, the published crates are unable to be viewed in the versions tab and are unable to be downloaded. The same crate packaged using cargo package is able to be uploaded manually fine and viewed/downloaded/etc. There are no errors within the actual act of cargo publish, and the verbose logs do not point to anything out of the unordinary.
