Automated Builds do not run unless a user is logged in
-
Hi,
I'm running BuildMaster on a Windows 7 box, and I'm finding that automated builds will only run when I'm logged into the server.
I have one automated build set to run at 12:00 each day. When I have an open RDP session, this build executes without issues. When I disconnect, the build does not execute.
I can still run manual builds at any point during the day: this doesn't cause any problems.
Can anyone shed any light on what is happening here? How does the automated build process work?
Thanks,
Ben

The BuildMaster service is a standard Windows service and will run regardless if a user session is active. Is your machine somehow entering sleep mode, maybe performing some other function when you aren't logged in that's interfering with the normal service operation (i.e. database backup, installation of updates, maintenance?)
Can you try changing the automated build to a different time to see if that has an effect?

Turns out that a default Win7 install (chosen to keep parity with our dev environment) has power saving enabled. Disabling sleep seems to have solved the problem.
I am not a smart man...
