        Hi @22marat22_9029 ,

I assume this is on a ProGet server?

@hwittenborn are you experiencing a similar issue?

        Thanks,
        Alana

I unload the apt mirror repository, configure the debian drop_path in the feed and the packages are not loaded, the error in the logs is "error: invalid or corrupted debian package: the management archive cannot be named "control.tar.zst'"! There are no problems with ubuntu 20.04 repositories!

            Hello;

I'm really not sure how to reproduce; can you give some step-by-step instructions to get the package files you are trying to import?

Can you try upload them to the feed using the Web UI?

with that, i can try to reproduce.

            Thanks,

Using apt-mirror, I download the Ubuntu 22.04 LTS repository "Jammy Jellyfish", then I try to upload it to proget! The screen log is attached below!

                Hi @22marat22_9029,

Currently, we do not support the compression format of zstd (tar.zst) for the control or the data file. We only support .tar, .tar.gz, and .tar.xz fir the data and control files with the addition tar.bz2 and tar.lzma for the data file . This is currently a limitation of the third-party package we use to read tar files. Hopefully, this is something we can add support for in the future.

                Thanks,
                Rich

It would be very good to add support, we really need support for these packages!

                    Hi @22marat22_9029,

So turns out that we had a compatible library from our Conda implementation that I was able to use for zstd compression with Debian. I have created a ticket, PG-2242, to track the fix and it will be released in the next release of ProGet, 2022.14.

                    Thanks,
                    Rich
