ProGet as "proxy" for HTTPD directory site?

  • Hi,

I am trying understand how to create a ProGet feed for a Apache HTTPD directory site, for instance https://mirror.openshift.com/pub/openshift-v4/

Is this at all possible using a universal connector, or have I set my hopes too high? 😊

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Hello; you might be able to use an Asset Directory for that, but note that they don't support connectors at this time.

  • Thanks for replying, @atripp !

But if I use the "Asset Directory" function, is seems I would have to download/replicate the whole remote directory structure and files to the ProGet-server.

Any method out there that allows me to create a "shadow" directory structure with ProGet? I.E, making ProGet keep an updated list of all the remote files and directories and downloading files from the remote server on demand from an internal client?

  • Also.. is it possible to create a directory structure on a disk on the ProGet and "point" the ProGet Asset Directory to it, without having to use the Asset Directory file uploader or API.

Is ProGet able to scan a local file directory on a schedule and create an updated feed "automatically", or is it necessary to use the Asset Directory API for each file added, updated or removed?

What you're describing is a "drop folder", which ProGet has for some feed types -- they're not supported for asset directories, however.

Do note that there is an Import Directory Endpoint in the Asset Directory API where you can publish a ZIP file that gets automatically extracted.
