Our Buildmaster Enterprise has the ability to import and export applications. We stood up an instance of Buildmaster Free Version in a dev environment to do some testing. I can't find the option to import an application on the Administration page on the Free Version.

BuildMaster is licensed per user, so if the same group of users will be using these instances, then you can use the same key.

In any case, import/export is also in the free edition. What version are you using? It should be on the Admin page.

Hi atripp. Thank you for your help. It is Version 6.2.0 (Build 175-buildmaster-62). I was expecting to see it under the application section of the admin page but it is not there.

Oh I see! Thanks; that would be a nice place to put it; we have a lot of links on that page, and are trying to reorganize it...

On my source server it is listed under applications. The source server is running version Version 6.1.5. buildmasterV6.1.5ImportExport.png

What I want to do is Export the application to a file from the source server, then Import/Restore it to the destination server. When I use the restore option on the destination server, there doesn't seem to be an option to restore from a file.

To simplify the import/export options, BuildMaster 6.2 only supports backing up / restoring to a "Package Source" (i.e. a ProGet feed); we may support for using a disk-based package source instead, but for now it's only a ProGet Universal feed.

BuildMaster 6.1.5 lets you back-up to a feed URL.

Note that BuildMaster 6.1.25 also has "Package Sources" (as a preview feature), which you can use to back-up all of your applications if you'd like.
