SemVer 2.0 download URL

Hi,
we have a problem with using Proget (5.0.12) with Visual Studio 2017 (15.7.1) if we create packages with hash in the version number. We would like use SemVer 2.0 compatible stable versions like 1.2.3+abcdef. We can upload and download it from Proget but VS can't.
The problem maybe lies in the download URL.
I can dowload the package from the URL:
https://companynuget.com/nuget/MyFeed/package/PackageName/1.2.3But the VS tries to retrieve this package from URL:
https://companynuget.com/nuget/MyFeed/package/PackageName/1.2.3+abcdefIs this a known issue and is there any workaround? Or is it possible to download the package from both pathes or configure this somehow int ProGet?
