Error 500 on accessing a ProGet feed

We have upgraded to ProGet 5.0.9
After longer (> 60 min) not accessing a feed, Visual Studio 2017 and also "Nuget Package Explorer" brings error Status code 500.
Here the error from Visula Studio:
The V2 feed at 'http://xxx:8181/nuget/xxx/Search()?$filter=IsLatestVersion&searchTerm=''&targetFramework='net46%7Cnet461'&includePrerelease=false&$skip=0&$top=26&semVerLevel=2.0.0' returned an unexpected status code '500 Internal Server Error'.
I found out, if I first access the ProGet http website from a browser, everiting works fine.
ProGet is installed with IIS and external MS SQL Server.
Is this a configuation / Install error or a problem with ProGet 5.0.9?
The earlier ProGet 4.2.x had no such a Problem.Product: ProGet
