Bower Chaching
-
hi there,
we play with proget Basic Edition. The Configuration of nuget feeds work like a charme.
But when we setup a Bower feed and enable the Caching , there is no possibility to configure the "Disk Path". And the Packages will be not Cached?
Is there an Bug or did we anything wrong?
Best Regards
MartinProduct: ProGet
Version: 3.7.5

A bower "package" is effectively a name and a url of a git repository.
The bower client looks up the name in the repository, and, if a url is returned, it then looks for a "package.json" in the git repo url; for example, here's bootstrap's package.json. The client then looks up all dependencies in the package.json file, and does the same.
Thus, there's nothing a private repo like ProGet can cache.

Hi,
Same question here: http://inedo.com/support/questions/3738. The git repo itself is worth caching for enterprise needs.
Actually our developers checkin in the bower_components directory into their git repos, because of the "fear" that the public git repo is getting unavailable.
As I can see, https://www.npmjs.com/package/private-bower has this feature.
