Are links possible in promotion comments?

I am currently working on automating promotion of packages using the promotions API. I have it working, but would like the comments to not only reflect that it was promoted by a release, but to link to the actual release details. Unfortunately any URL I put in is not converted to a link, and HTML seems to be encoded, thus making HTML links not work. Is there any kind of syntax for embedding a link in the comments?

I can't imagine any reason at all this wouldn't be done, and it can go it the next maintenance release assuming it passes code review etc!
