      Hello,

I have upgraded a ProGet server from 4.7.14 to 4.8.3 and an error started showing up.

      Error message

The error message: Warning: The Inedo Core extension is not loaded, most ProGet functionality will be missing.

If I click on the message, it brings me to the extension installation page. From there, I can select Inedo Core and try to install it, but I get the following error:

Unhandled exception: System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: targetDirectory at Inedo.Common.WebApplication.Pages.Administration.Extensions.OtterDenClient.<DownloadFileAsync>d__11.MoveNext()
--- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown ---
      at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.ThrowForNonSuccess(Task task)
      at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotification(Task task)
      at Inedo.Common.WebApplication.Pages.Administration.Extensions.ExtensionUpdater.<UpdateAsync>d__26.MoveNext()

Please help me fix this error or let me know if I can simply ignore it.

      Thanks!

      Product: ProGet
      Version: 4.8.3

Just updated to 4.8.4 from 4.8.2 on the web nodes in our NLB and received the same warning.

This can happen if the Extensions.ExtensionsPath setting is not set in Admin > Advanced Settings... apparently this situation can happen if an early v4 version of ProGet was installed and then upgraded. From that version on, the installer had set this so it would have had to have been manually deleted from that page for this to occur.

Make sure to also set the Extensions.ServiceTempPath and Extensions.WebTempPath values as well, by default they are set to

          Edit:
By default these are both under %PROGRAMDATA%\ProGet\ExtensionsTemp

Ok, resolved the paths to the Extensions folders. The install of the Inedo Core extension progesses up to a point. It hangs on trying to restart the website. I assume this step should not take long? We have three web nodes in our NLB environment.

              Thanks Tod!

Worked great when I set the values to C:\ProgramData\ProGet\Extensions and C:\ProgramData\ProGet\ExtensionsTemp (doesn't work with the env var %PROGRAMDATA%).

As soon as that was set, it automatically loaded the extensions that were there.

              Thanks :)

I'm having the same issues as Scott C, the install of the Inedo Core extension progresses up to a point. It hangs (I waited enough- 20 minutes) on trying to restart the website.

To resolve this on our end, I had to use local paths to the extension folders instead of relative in the Advanced Settings page. I was hoping to use relative in our 3 web node NLB environment.
