Authentication to Symbols Server

is it possible to add authentication to the symbols and source server?

This may be possible, but I think we've had trouble in the past with this because Visual Studio doesn't always like to send credentials when requesting symbols. We can investigate adding this as well as a new task for downloading symbols. If it's a simple change and works with current versions of Visual Studio, we can probably get it in the next release.

I know this is an old thread but can you give me some info on the status of this issue?
We would protect our symbol server with authentication but the Visual Studio doesn't support authentication. As i know MyGet and SymbolSource support authenticated URLs with <login>/<key> in it.
Is it possible to do something similar with ProGet?Thanks,

Now that the current version of Visual Studio seems to respect authentication challenges, we are adding support for this. The tracking issue is here: PG-1273
