      Hi,

I am using proget 3.5.5 as a nuget mirror, running under IIS. I've got builds from teamcity that are failing from time to time. When I retry few times they work.

The error I am getting is:

Unable to find version '2.0.0.668' of package 'protobuf-net'.
      [13:17:48]Errors in package restore

In IIS logs, I can see a '404' for that request but the package is present in proget.

Any idea what could be causing this?

      Thanks,
      Mialn

      Product: ProGet
      Version: 3.5.5

I've got cache enabled, so to me this seems like an issue with Proget.

If you are package a package, and then immediately trying to consume it, then the package may not be indexed in time. I would add a few seconds delay.

            Hi Alana,

These are all external packages, we are just using Proget as a Nuget cache server. We have about 25 packages we are restoring and out of those 1 - 5 would error. These are not the same ones all the time. We have 9 build serves which can be building our solutions concurrently and some would error others wouldn't. I have tried to disabled the cache on the feed but I get the see the same error. I am not sure if this is an issue with the Proget service itself.

            Thanks,
            Milan

I see; this is not known behavior, nor does it show up in load tests.

I'd suggest to put some wireshark or fiddler monitoring in between to see exactly what URLs are causing the 404's and where they are coming from, and what the actual response is.

                Thanks Alana.

I upgraded to Proget v3.5.6 and updated the timeout period for the nuget feed source to 30s. Now I am no longer getting that issue but I am getting a different one. I logged it as a separate question:
