BuildMaster (No SQL) installation fails

Tried installing BuildMaster 4.1.7 without embedded SQL, got the following error (first one of many):
Debug: 40.PROCS\0.BuildMaster_GetEventReference.sql...
Error: An error occurred while executing a query: Must declare the scalar variable "@Remarks_Text".Then hundreds of these after:
Error: An error occurred while executing a query: Could not find stored procedure 'dbo.__BuildMaster_AddStoredProcInfo'.
Any ideas?

I've got SQL 2008 R2 on this machine, I can switch to embedded if it will be easier, just thought I'd use what was there is all.

Hmm, there shouldn't be such errors happening on SQL 2008R2, that's definitely one of our tested platforms (2005 thru 2014). There might be some configuration/compatibility setting set-up at the database level that's causing this syntax error.
you can also try running the database installer manually, though that will produce the same error unless you change some config setting.

Decided to go with the embedded version, install worked fine, I'll revisit this once I move out of testing mode and perhaps we can figure out what the issue is. Thanks!
