Install on a Win 7 workstation as Windows Service went well. Install on a Windows Server 2012 R2 having problems. Tried as windows service. Had some kind of network or firewall issue. Tried turning firewall off. Tried uninstall and reinstall as web app into IIS and installer seems to ignore that and install the windows service anyway.

Installed as windows service for port 80 (Default site in IIS is changed to port 8088). And I still get "This page cannot be displayed." both from the server console and across the LAN from a client.

      Ideas?

      Product: ProGet
      Version: 3.3.12

Can you verify that ASP.NET 4.0 is installed on that system? If not it can be done through server roles or running "aspnet_regiis -i".

You can also try running the ProGet service as a console window to see more logging by stopping the service and running ProGet.Service.exe in the \Service installation directory.

Also note that the ProGet service will always be installed (even without the web server) as it is used to index packages.

I was using a key from the Win 7 install because my server did not have access to the outside world. Turns out the installer worked just fine once it has access to the outside world. I would suggest that you make this more transparent.

Hmm, it's not supposed to require outbound internet access. That should only be necessary to grab a license key, but it should make you enter one if it can't pull one from the internet.
