How can configuration (deployment plans, etc.) be copied to another BM instance

We have multiple sites with various development and test servers. Is is possible to copy the configuration from one BM instance to another so that much of the work setting up the build and deployments can be shared instead of redoing this work on the other server?

It's worth mentioning in the v4.0.1-beta that there is an import/export option for deployment plans (not application configuration yet).
