Create private feeds with login option
-
Hi Team,
I am looking for Creating private NuGet feed with login option for my company NuGet feed.
My Requirement is, we need to get username and password for each customer and validate it then only allow them to access our feeds, this should be validated in all places like Visual Studio NuGet package Manager, browser, other automation tools.
Is proget has any option for this? I have searched your documents, i could find any related item, can you please share the details ASAP.
Product: ProGet
Version: 5.1.0

You can use Tasks (Admin > Tasks) to restrict who can access which feed. Once you've restricted a feed (i.e. not give permission to Anonymous), then users who access it will be prompted for credentials .

Hi Alana,
Thanks for the update.
We have tried ProGet free trial. This is working for our requirement. We are ready to buy your product.
We have some queries:
-
Is this possible to host ProGet has sub-application?
Example:
test@domain.com - it's our main application.
We need host ProGet has sub-application (nuget) - test@domain.com/nuget -
Is this possible to change feed URL has customized URL?
Example :
nuget/packages/aspnet -
Nearly we have 80 GB files. Is this affect any performance problem?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Alana,
- We need to do some DB performance. Based on the condition (if condition satisfied ) then only display packages to users.
- If condition not satisfied show error message.
- Is this possible to migrate our DB with Proget and check custom conditions?
Note:
We have own Database.Thanks,
-
I can answer the first three questions pretty easily:
-
ProGet does not support being installed as a sub-application; some users have done a reverse proxy successfully, but we really don't support that configuration
-
The Feed url is based on the name of your feed, so it can be whatever you want. You can't do further customization.
-
That's not a problem
But I'm afraid I really don't understand the situation about 4-6. ProGet does have some extensibility hooks that you may be able to use.
