Unable to update the npm package

We are trying to publish the react component library on Proget using TeamCity. It complains with 404 error during the npm publish step, when trying to publish the library.
But when we manually upload the tgz file to the feed, and then run the publish command from TeamCity, it builds fine. However, the version of the component library/package is not updated to 1.0.3. It still has the same old version 1.0.2 that we manually created using the tgz. Are we missing anything?
Proget: Version 5.2.32 (Build 5)

This issue was resolved, as there was an authentication issue that was failing silently.
