ProGet 6.0.11 (Build 25) allow to use LDAP in Free version

  • Win2012R2, ProGet 6.0.11 Free is hosted as IIS application.
Preview of the new Security Management behaviors and UI is turned on.
Active Directory (LDAP) enabled for current domain only without additional settings.
You may see "Although LDAP / Active Directory is enabled, this feature is not available in ProGet Free. Use your Built-in Directory Username and Password to log-in." message when you tried to logon.
But you able to logon with domain credentials.

I tried to reproduce it with docker image with no luck.

Is it bug or this is new feature of "new Security Management"?
I suppose it is bug related to windows implemenation (dev team is concentrated on docker images) and will be fixed in next versions?

    Hi @NUt ,

LDAP / Active Directory integration is a paid feature, and should not be available in ProGet Free Edition. We don't intended to change that in our next version (v2022).

If you're able to log-in or use it, then it's most certainly a bug of the new Security Management preview features. Please don't rely on that, because it will probably not work in a newer version :)

    Cheers,
    Alana

    Hi @NUt ,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. This bug, PG-2126, will be fixed in ProGet 6.0.12. Going forward it will allow you to configure everything and even test it via the "Test User Directories" button, but it will only allow you to login using the Built-In user directory and the username/password login option when using ProGet free.

    Thanks,
    Rich
