Need to change my forum email address
-
Self explanatory; I don't see a place to change it in my profile. Thanks!
-
Hi @Jonathan-Engstrom ,
When you click your name in the upper right corner, go to Edit Profile. On the left you should see a button that says Change Email. Do you see a button there?
Thanks,
Rich
-
I do not see that option.
-
Can you try it again?
It was a setting on the Forums admin side, it was disabled for change by regular users.
-
@atripp So it appears to have created a new profile and removed all of my post history. Good times! :)
-
Oh no! Well, I can do this -- I can see the email of your new account ( @JonathanEngstrom), and I think I can just delete your new account, and set the email of your old account @Jonathan-Engstrom?
Let me know if it's okay, and I'll try that.
-
That's fine, try that. I just logged on and saw I don't have my posts :)
-
@atripp I'm sorry to revive this old thread but I am having this exact same problem. Old email is <<redacted>>, I no longer work there; new email <<redacted>>. I think two new accounts got created somehow due to my failing efforts. Please help?
-
Hi @MaxCascone ,
No problem; I deleted the "alternate" accounts that were auto-created, and then I changed your forum email to the new one.
Cheers,
Alana

Hello Alana, how are you? I have logged back in to see that my old account at my previous work was not merged with this one. Can we do that or? Thanks!
PS I got this :
Error
As a new user, you can only post once every 240 second(s) until you have earned 3 reputation - please wait before posting againIs that what I am, a new user?

Hi @Jonathan-Engstrom ,
There's no way to "merge" accounts that I can see, so I just changed the ownership of the handful of posts by
@JonathanEngstrom
to@JonathanEngstrom
and updated emails. Hopefully that works-- Dean

@dean-houston Thanks Dean, looks like it worked.
I guess I am still a new user too!
